Flash Practice

I definitely like the second one better, although the only difference is the zoom. I also probably would be sure to not shoot in this patterned shadow.

Color, Contrast, and Angles: Chapter 10 Exercises

My family and I went to a Music Festival this weekend, but because we had our nephew and many other little ones with us, we weren't up near the stage dancing...We spent more time admiring the hot air balloons and eating...a lot!

This top picture exemplifies color contrast, as do the next few:
This next one is more of a "one color" photo:

Now for some selective focus....

Strawberries and sunblock always make me think of summer.

Now for these next few are about angles. On page 292, it talks about effectively using angles of view.  I only got a high angle and an eye level shot (or at least eye level for these little guys). Do you have a preference?

On a side note: The top kid is my husband's best friend's son, and the one in yellow is our nephew.

Scanner as Camera

This was probably my favorite assignment so far. I remember enjoying it in my darkroom class in undergrad, but this was definitely a lot more fun. I chose the last one as my best for the critique, but I have a few extra.

DeCordova Museum Garden Photos

After our stroll through the DeCordova Museum, we had some time to photograph the sculptures and gardens around the museum. I took some of the sculptures, but must not have loved them enough to make a blog post with many. My eye definitely gravitates towards nature.

This wasn't even a sculpture, although I thought it was at first! It was an old baby buggy painted and filled with art supplies for the summer camps.

Towards the end of our time wandering around the grounds, Jen told me about this tree you could walk inside. It was a little bit of a walk in the hot sun to get to it, but I decided it must be cool enough for her to recommend it.

Sure enough...It was!

My take on the museum will be coming soon...
